Brian Harris Named Father Ryan Baseball Head Coach

Father Ryan High School is pleased to announce Brian Harris as the new Baseball Head Coach, effective immediately. Coach Harris succeeds long-time Coach Mike Mascari '96, who announced his retirement from coaching earlier this spring. 

Coach Harris is a Nashville native who played collegiate baseball at Vanderbilt University from 2006-2010, earning All-SEC recognition as a shortstop in his senior year.  He went on to play professional baseball for two seasons before transitioning his career to coaching. He served as assistant baseball coach for both the University of Illinois Chicago and Tulane University before returning to Nashville to pursue youth coaching and instruction. Most recently, Coach Harris was director and lead instructor for Harris Ball Club, where he coached high-performing youth travel baseball.

“Father Ryan is thrilled to welcome Coach Brian Harris to our community as the 10th head coach of our Baseball program,” said Ann Mullins '03, Director of Athletics for Father Ryan. “Coach Harris has the experience and passion needed to carry on the legacy Coach Mascari built over the last two decades. We are grateful for the foundation Coach Mascari built and are excited about the future with Coach Harris.”

Father Ryan conducted an extensive search to identify a candidate with demonstrated success in leading strong baseball programs and an unwavering commitment to supporting and developing student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom.

Commenting on his new role, Coach Harris said, “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the baseball program at Father Ryan. The mission-driven and values-oriented approach for which Father Ryan is known is aligned with my personal values and coaching philosophy. I am grateful for the opportunity to join this community of amazing students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni.”
