The fun doesn’t stop during the summer at Father Ryan! Our courts, fields, stages and classrooms are alive with pulse-pounding action in our highly sought-after summer camps. From football to dance to dodgeball to art, we have something for all interests, abilities and age levels.

NEW THIS YEAR! - Registering for camps is easier than ever with Father Ryan's new system. You can register one child or multiple children for as many camps as you want, all at once. You can also add more camps at a later date and check the schedules without having to reenter your contact information. It's a faster, simpler way to manage your Father Ryan camp experience.

  • Algebra I Camp

    $150- Designed for Rising 6th-8th Graders
    Session 7: July 15-19, 2019, 9:00am - 12:00pm (breakfast included)

    Algebra I camp is designed for students to develop and sharpen their basic math skills. Campers will become comfortable with the concepts and language of algebra through inquiry activities, small groups, and games guided by Ms. Corso. The activities and games will provide campers with the unique opportunity to discover the presence of math in their own lives. Campers will explore basic operations with integers and decimals, expressions and equations, ratios and proportions, and the basics of graphing and linear equations.

    This camp will be headed by baseball and football coach Joe Coode '79. In small groups, campers will participate in baseball, soccer, football, kickball, lacrosse, archery, wrestling, basketball, dodgeball and track.
  • Boys Basketball Camp

    $150 - Designed for Rising 4th-9th Graders
    Session 2: June 3-7, 2019, 9:00am -12:00pm (breakfast included)

    The camp is led by the two-time State Championship Coach Doug Bontrager '81, the Father Ryan coaching staff, and present and former Irish players. The mission of the camp is to help young players learn the skills to take their game and life to the next level. Each day the campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game with an emphasis on: shooting, ball handling, defense, rebounding, and team play. Campers will also get the opportunity to improve their skills during the course of the day by participating in both individual and team games. Besides developing basketball skills, the camp staff is committed to working with your son to improve himself as a person. Daily talks will include topics on character traits such as leadership, hard work, commitment, discipline, and being a good teammate. Come dressed and prepared in basketball attire and ready to have fun!

  • Cheerleading Camp

    $150 - Designed for Rising K-8th Graders

    Instruction includes basic cheer techniques, jumps, a spirit dance, and a variety of cheers, chants, and stunts. Cheerleaders will be divided into age-appropriate groups. Daily snacks and drinks will be provided. (Please let us know if your child has a food allergy.) Campers, led by the Father Ryan Cheerleaders, will perform at the end of the week.
  • Elite Volleyball Camp

    Designed for Rising 7th-12th Graders
    Session 7: July 15-19, 2019 - Full-Day Only (9:00am-4:00pm)

    The Senior Elite Camp is designed to grow rising 7th-12th grade athletes knowledge in the fundamentals of passing, setting, attacking, serving, blocking, and defense. The camp focus also include themes such as serve receive patterns, team defense and offense, Out of System, and competition. If a player does not have club experience, they will at least need two years of experience in middle school level volleyball to be prepared for camp.
  • Elite Dance Camp

    $150 - Designed for Rising 5th-8th Graders
    Session 4: June 17-21, 2019, 9:00am -12:00pm (breakfast included)

    Come join the Father Ryan Dance Team, led by Alicia Brooks, the Father Ryan Dance Coach, in a fun-filled week of movement.  While at camp you will learn the three most common styles used by dance teams:  Jazz, Pom, and Hip-Hop.  You will learn technique and skills to use throughout each style, as well as musicality through movement.  The last half of camp, you will be taught mini combos in each style.  We will have a mini-performance on the last day to showcase your talent. 

    This is a great opportunity to meet the girls as well as learn about the Dance Team and what we are all about.  Whether you are interested in trying out for the team, taking other dance courses or ust want to dance. we look forward to having you dancing here.
  • Flag Football/Dodgeball

    Designed for Rising 1st-8th Graders
    Session 1: May 28-31, 2019 (Morning, afternoon, and full-day)
    Session 5: June 24-28, 2019 (Morning, afternoon, and full-day)

    Led by baseball and football coach Joe Coode '79, campers will have a day of flag football in the morning followed by a variety of other sports like dodgeball after lunch. Campers are divided into age groups for our flag football championship game. Each team will work on its own playbook and football drills. The championship game will take place on Friday, the last day of camp. The winning team will be honored, and a playmaker award will be given out to the Camper of the Week.
  • Girls Basketball Camp

    Designed for Rising 3rd-9th Graders
    Session 6: July 8-12, 2019, 9:00am -3:00pm (Morning or Full-Day)

    The Father Ryan Girls Basketball Camp concentrates on teaching players the fundamentals of the game. Ball handling, passing, shooting, and footwork will all be taught, along with offensive moves and defensive positioning and techniques. In addition to skill work, players' mental approach to the game will be addressed and the importance of teamwork will be discussed. All girls will need to bring a basketball to camp each day.

  • Golf Camp

    $200 - Designed for Rising 5th-8th Graders
    Session 1:  May 28-31, 2019 - Morning Only, Off-Campus, No Food Served
     
    Coached by Father Ryan's Golf Coach Greg Thompson, this camp is a great way to fine-tune your game for the summer.  Players will work on putting, short game, driving, and live play.  On the Friday of camp, there will be a mini-tournament.  

    The camp will take place off-campus at Harpeth Valley and Percy Warner Golf Courses and will run 9:00am - 12:00pm.  Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the courses each day.  
     
    Campers will need to bring a water bottle.  Snacks will be provided.  There will be guest speakers to discuss the mental aspects and fundamentals of golf. Please pre-register so we can reserve enough spots at the courses.

  • One Voice Nashville

    $155 - Designed for Rising 5th-8th Graders

    Instructor: Mary Margaret Randall

    This new camp, taught by One Voice Nashville founder Mary Margaret Randall, will show campers how to develop, prepare, write and record their stories for Oral Presentations and Narrative Journalism.  These skills will be valuable for classroom presentations and public gatherings.

    Father Ryan's Baseball Camp is a good opportunity for players to fine tune their skills. Campers will be instructed on defense, hitting, base running and pitching. The skills will be enforced through drill work, individual work, and also group work.

    The Father Ryan Soccer Camp, taught by Father Ryan Head Coach Robin Dieterich '73, is a coed camp geared towards the players who wants to push themselves for success at a higher level. The training sessions involve working on one’s technical ability (foot skills, etc.), tactical ability (understanding the game) through small sided and large sided matches, and having fun.
  • Softball Camp

    $155 - Designed for Rising 3rd-8th Graders

    The Father Ryan softball camp provides quality softball instruction on softball fundamentals and improvement in all areas of the game. Emphasis will be on fielding, hitting, bunting, and baserunning. Each day, campers will have the opportunity to improve their skills and softball knowledge with the help of head coach Ashlee Schenk, and current and alumni Father Ryan Irish softball players.

  • Speed Camp (Youth)

    Designed for 9-13 year olds
    Session 1: May 28-31, 2019

    $110 - 3:30-4:45pm (no food served)

    This camp is designed to cover a number of topics for the beginner athlete. Skills to be taught include, but are not limited to:
    • Proper Running Form Body Lean
    • Warm up Drills Explosion
    • Proper Stretching for Speed Running Exercises for Speed
    • Resistence Training Plyometric Training
    • Over speed Training Stride Development
    The camp instructor is Clyde Avant, who has over 26 years of experience in speed and personal training. He has coached several high school State Champion teams, as well as college and pro athletes. Clyde is a local expert in speed training and does a great job of making connections and motivating his athletes. 
  • Themed Dance

    $155 - Designed for Rising K-4th Graders
    Session 3: June 10-14 2019, 1:00-4:00opm (lunch included)

    Led by Lauri Gregoire, join the Father Ryan Dance Company for a week of dancing fun! This camp concentrates on teaching the fundamentals of dance while also working on overall performance quality. Participants will learn skills such as pirouettes and leaps as well as work on memorization and showmanship. They will learn various styles of choreography and will perform a showcase at the end of the week for friends and family.
     
    Participants will need to dress in comfortable clothing that allows them to move. Tennis shoes and jazz shoes are preferred, but socks can be worn if you do not have jazz shoes. For the showcase, participants are asked to wear black leggings or shorts with their camp t-shirt.
  • Wrestling Camp

    Designed for Rising K-12th Graders
    Session 2: June 3-7, 2019, 9:00am -3:00pm (Morning or Full-Day)

    Led by head wrestling coach and MTSU Hall of Famer Pat Simpson '74, the Father Ryan High School Wrestling Camp is designed to benefit both the novice and experienced wrestler. The camp emphasizes take-downs, pins, tilts, escapes and reversals. Campers will also view instructional videos of international, college, and high school wrestling matches.

Morning/Afternoon Combo Camps

Once again, you have the option to take different half-day morning and half-day afternoon camps during the same week at the full-day price. 

To take advantage of this combo pricing option, simply select the two half-day camps you want during a given session, and your account will be automatically adjusted to the full-day price.

After-Care

All participants will be supervised by Father Ryan staff after their camp sessions. Campers can take part in general activities like sports, games and art after their camp session ends.

After-Care is offered every afternoon of camp and is open to all participants for $10 a day. There is no After-Care offered for half-day camps.

FAQs

All children must be picked up no later than 30 minutes after their camp ends. If you are unable to do so, please contact Corry Stewart '06 or Ann Mullins at summercamps@fatherryan.org or (615) 383-4200 to arrange After-Care (additional charge of $10 a day).

*These prices apply to most camps, but a few camps will have different prices, as noted. 

What to Bring?
Some camps require participants to bring their own equipment, such as a ball or glove with the camper's name on it. Appropriate clothing for outdoor camps is also requested. Campers are welcome to bring a snack or drink. Contact summercamps@fatherryan.org or (615) 383-4200 if your child has a food or other allergy. Read the full descriptions of each camp to determine specific requirements. We also suggest printing and bringing the receipt from your online registration to the first day of camp.




Camp Attire
All buildings are air-conditioned. Please wear comfortable clothing. Sports campers should dress in t-shirt and shorts with appropriate shoes or as directed by the camp director. Remember to bring water and apply sunscreen for all outside camps. Each camper will receive a free Father Ryan t-shirt!

Transportation
Most camps will take place on the Father Ryan campus, but a few camps will be off-campus. Regardless, families are responsible for transporting campers to and from the camp locations. All children must be picked up no later than 30 minutes after their camp ends. If you are unable to do so, please contact summercamps@fatherryan.org to arrange After-Care (additional charge of $10 a day).
