Father Ryan assists students in sharing their God-given talents with others on stage and in the school setting through the school's many arts courses. With the growth and development of the Father Ryan Dance Company, there are many opportunities for students of all levels and abiilites to share their gifts and tell a story through dance.
The Father Ryan Dance Company has four levels of instruction and training, beginning with an introductory/first level course and concluding with a competitive dance class and team. In addition to learning dance technique, students will learn about a variety of topics such as history of dance, famous dance styles, musical theatre, classic and modern choreographers and more. The Dance Company performs at Visual and Performing Arts programs throughout the academic year. Students are welcome to enter the Dance Company at any level, and need not begin with the first class. Students perform for the dance instructor to determinte correct placement in the company.
COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM
The fourth year students, who are members of the competitive dance team, will perform at pep rallies and athletic contests, and represent the school in local, state, and national competitions. With the growth of the dance program, many Father Ryan Dance team members have signed with universities to dance at the collegiate level, including three students from the class of 2017 who will be a part of the dance teams at Villanova University, University of Mississippi and University of Memphis.
