Whether you are starting your first day of high school or transferring from a different school, we are excited to have you as a member of the Father Ryan community!

We want to make your transition to Father Ryan go as smoothly as possible. That is why we wanted to let you know of some of the upcoming opportunities for our new students and important policies that you will need to know for your first day as an Irish student, from athletics and technology to academics and more.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact your Admissions Team by phone at (615) 383-4200. We will be happy to assist you.

  • Campus Ministry Information

We believe that ministry is an integral part of the Father Ryan experience, supporting each of our long-standing traditions of Faith, Knowledge and Service. We offer numerous opportunities for our students to get involved in ministry throughout the school year...on campus, within the community and around the world. • Freshman Seminar

The fight song. The Jungle. The courageous legacy of Willie Brown, John Seigenthaler and Bill Derrick. The pep rally cheers. The band at Macy's. And the story of those library doors.

Our rich tradition extends back more than nine decades. Father Ryan isn't a school. It isn't a place. It is a family. It is you and your classmates, teachers, and the tens of thousands of Irish alumni. Every individual who has walked through our doors--and who will walk through our doors--has a story to add to the Father Ryan legacy.

During the first semester of each year, all Freshmen will be required to take a Freshman Seminar, an all-encompassing pass/fail course that touches on the history and spirit of Father Ryan past and present.

This course will also serve to help new Freshman adjust to life at the high school level, educating them on all of the resources available to them at Father Ryan, from counseling to study skills and stress management.
