College Counseling

Our College Counselors help students navigate the college admissions process by providing guidance and information to help students select the college that is the best fit for them.  Services provided by our College Counselors include:
  • Meeting individually with each student and his/her parents to develop a personalized “plan” for the student’s admissions process
  • Hosting College Boot Camp sessions during the summer before the senior year
  • Coordinating the individual visits of admissions representatives from more than 100 universities to Father Ryan each year
  • Coordinating a College Spotlight event on our campus to host representatives from another 120 universities  
  • Hosting several evening programs for Father Ryan students and parents to inform them about the college admissions process, financial aid, scholarships, and more

Class of 2016

This class submitted over 1,100 applications (an average of 5 per student) to 244 diverse colleges and universities, and will attend 65 different institutions of higher learning. Forty-six percent of the students attending college this fall will do so at a college outside the state of Tennessee, and 23 students will enroll at a Catholic university. Scholarships received total more than $27 million dollars, averaging more than $112,000 per graduate.
