Pat Simpson '74

Pat Simpson '74 is a Social Sciences Teacher and the Varsity Wrestling Coach at Father Ryan. Named both Wrestling Coach of the Year by The Tennessean and National Coach of the Year by the National Wrestling Coaches Association in 2016, Coach Simpson lived up to his honorary titles as he led this year's team to two more State Championship titles, marking the 25th state title in program history and the 20th state title for Coach Simpson during his tenure. He coaches wrestling at all levels, and was a wrestler for the Irish in his day, starting his freshman year. He returned to Father Ryan as a faculty member and coach in 1979, the same year he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance and History from Middle Tennessee State University.
