Robin Dieterich '73, a Father Ryan alumnus and former Irish soccer player, is a member of the English department and is the Head Coach for Boys and Girls Soccer teams. He has been teaching English and coaching the varsity and junior varsity soccer teams for both girls and boys at Father Ryan since 1978. Through his years of coaching, he has led the boys’ teams to five State Championships and the girls’ team to four State Titles, including their most recent title in the fall of 2016. Dieterich has also led countless athletes to collegiate success, including his son Tanner, who played for the Irish in 2013 when they won the state title. Tanner was recruited to the U.S.’s Under 17 World Cup team that competed in Chile in 2015. Mr. Dieterich earned his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English from Stetson University in 1978. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association, and Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches Association.
