Father Ryan defeats Franklin 179-153

5-0! The Irish Swim Team completed a perfect season last night with a 179-153 win over Franklin High to secure the Division Title. The Irish can call themselves champions in a sport that demands much but receives little spotlight. The team has worked very hard throughout the season to get to this point and it is much deserved with great swims all around. Swimmers of the Meet honors went to Christina Clements (Senior) and David Sloan (Freshman). Tina represented the Lady Irish swimmers well with hard work and great tenacity as she took charge to help the Lady Irish go undefeated for the 2018-19 season. David capped off a great season for the male underclassmen by winning the 200 Free and putting the Irish men out front early in the meet. Big shoutout goes to Christian Contreras (Sophomore) for state qualification in the 100 Breastroke! Another shoutout goes to Sevier Moore for getting his first Region Cut in 100 breastroke. All in all, the Swim Team proved that with a desire to win and effort to match, perfection is possible. There is more to come as the Irish prepare for the Region Meet at Centennial Sportsplex on Friday January 25th.
