Irish have strong performance at McCallie

November 16 & 17, 2018:  McCallie- The Irish Swim and Dive team had strong performances at the McCallie Invitational in Chattanooga this weekend. The Divers had a good day of competition on Friday with Jill Tinsey placing 9th, Megan Hall 13th, and Lucy Barnett finishing 19th out of 34 divers. The Swimmers performed well on Saturday with best times from numerous team members. Evan Dragan got his first state cut of the year in 100 butterfly and Rosemary Bonadies got her 3rd state cut of the year in 50 free! The Boys 200 medley relay consisting of Walker Campbell, Chas Woeppel, Evan Dragan, and Austin Wright got to the finals of the meet and placed 13th overall. In addition, the Boys 200 free relay consisting of Austin Wright, Walker Campbell, Tyler Fernandez, and Evan Dragan also made it to finals finishing 12th. The Girls 200 free relay with Rosemary Bonadies, Kara Stacey, Amanda McDowell, and Christina Clements made it to finals and placed 15th overall. Swimmers of the Meet were Christina Clements and Austin Wright. Christina cut time in her 100 backstroke to get to 1:10:13 and placed 30th out of 67. Austin was the only individual Irish Swimmer to make it to finals and he placed 7th in 50 free out of 90 swimmers and 13th in the 100 freestyle which had 70 swimmers. The Swim team's next meet is next Wednesday November 28th at the Vanderbilt Rec Center vs. Wilson Central for Senior Night!
