The ice hockey team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 4-0 shutout of the Franklin-Hume Fogg club team Monday evening, November 5th, at Centennial Sportsplex.
Freshman Carson Mielnik anchored the Irish defense with 19 saves in net while Xavier Tanner and Peter Faulkner powered the offense with two goals, and a goal and two assists, respectively.
A special stick tap was in order for senior Nolan White who scored his first career varsity goal in the contest. White, who only started playing hockey at the beginning of last season, sent the bench into a frenzy when he plucked the puck off a faceoff and sent it past the goalie's blocker for the score. "It was special to see," said fellow senior and team captain Evan Scruggs. "He's been working hard all season for that moment. We were pumped up to see him rewarded."
