Ms. Mullins, a recent addition to Father Ryan and a 2003 Father Ryan graduate, started coaching Irish volleyball in 2016. Coach Mullins played volleyball for the Irish from 1999-2003, and has since coached throughout the Mid-state, building successful programs at every level. A Tennessee native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child and Family Studies from Lipscomb University in 2008, and her Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching with an emphasis on Education from Lipscomb University in 2010. She began playing volleyball in middle school, and continued to play through high school and college. Ms. Mullins started coaching club volleyball in 2004 and high school volleyball in 2009. She coached at Ensworth High School and at Siegel High School where she developed the program into a major state contender in Division II-AA. Ms. Mullins has a true passion for the game and wants her players to have the same, as she says she knows first-hand how volleyball can help young girls gain confidence and become mature young women. She coaches now because the coaches she’s had throughout her career have helped her in many aspects of her life, and she feels the sense to give back to the sport she loves. Ms. Mullins has received many awards, including Libero of the Year in 2005, All Time Dig Leader at Lipscomb University and in the Atlantic Sun conference, and Daily News Journal Coach of the Year 2009-2010.
