Reunion Weekend 2020 Canceled

A Message from Matt Davis '89

A Message from Director of Alumni Angela Mills '85 to our Golden Grads

In partnership with Bishop J. Mark Spalding of the Diocese of Nashville and with Mayor John Cooper of Metro Nashville, Father Ryan has made the difficult decision to cancel Reunion Weekend 2020. The mayor’s plan to reopen Nashville and Davidson County is based on data, not dates, making rescheduling Reunion Weekend challenging at best. Our primary concern in making this decision is for the health and safety of our alumni, faculty and staff, and students.
For classes ending in 0s and 5s, this news is especially hard to hear. I feel that particularly because my class graduated 35 years ago this month and were looking forward to seeing each other in June. Our Reunion Weekend event status is the following:
Lou Graham ’56 Alumni Golf Tournament – Cancelled.

Alumni Reception – Cancelled.

Class Reunions – Classes ending in 0s and 5s may reschedule their Class Reunion at a time when restrictions are lifted by Mayor Cooper.

Golden Grad Mass & Brunch – We plan to reschedule our Golden Grad celebration, hopefully in the fall, when we can honor the historic Class of 1970 – the last all-boys class at Father Ryan.
This is an unprecedented time in our history, but we are Father Ryan, and we remain committed to strengthening Ryan Nation. We will do this by continuing to be guided by our motto: A Tradition of Faith, Knowledge, Service.  We will also do this by continuing to connect, beginning with a virtual gathering next week.
