Shadow Days provide prospective students with an opportunity to spend time with a Father Ryan student and discover what a typical day is like. Seeing Father Ryan during the school day opens your eyes to the possibilities and infinite opportunities available to your son or daughter. It also allows your child to experience first-hand the kind and nurturing environment at Father Ryan High School - something mere words could never do. We look forward to introducing our community to you.
This day begins with drop-off at 8:30am and ends at 2:00pm lunch will be provided. Drop-off and pick-up will be in the Cloister Building (Main Office).
Proper attire is required for Shadow Days. Boys should wear nice pants and a button down shirt or polo shirt. Girls should wear nice pants, or a skirt (of modest length), polo or blouse. Jeans, shorts, mini-skirts, ripped pants, tank tops, sneakers, etc., are not permitted. Students may choose to wear their own school uniform if they wish.
Shadow host requests may or may not be met due to the need to follow CDC Guidelines.
When you arrive, please call the main office at 615-383-4200 and an admission representative will meet you outside.
Student will be asked to complete a wellness check, and there will be a temperature screening upon arrival.
All visitors are required to wear masks at all times while on campus.
Father Ryan invites each surrounding Partner School to schedule a day for their 8th grade classes to visit and experience our campus, attend classes, receive tours from Student Ambassadors, and meet our Faculty & Staff.
COVID update: At this time, Father Ryan High School is not hosting 8th Grade Visit Days on campus. The Admissions Team, however, has contacted each Partner School to offer our willingness to bring the Visit Day to your 8th grade student - virtually or in person!
There has been an enthusiastic response to our parade and have reached the capacity for this event, based on the current campus COVID-19 protocols. Thank you for your response. If you did not get to register for the parade, we encourage you to join us for our Irish Information Series or a campus tour.
Come visit the Father Ryan campus and join us for our first ever trick-or-treat car parade! Put on your best costume, decorate your car to match, and get a glimpse of the beautiful Father Ryan campus!
Registration is REQUIRED for this event. Each child who registers will receive a t-shirt, glow items, trick-or-treat bag, candy, and can take part in a scavenger hunt! We encourage registrants with the last name A-O to drive through between 10:00-11:00am and P-Z arrive between 11:00am-12:00pm.
To keep everyone safe and healthy, we ask that everyone stay in their cars throughout the parade.

Due to the overwhelming response from our Junior Irish families, Preview Day has reached capacity. We encourage everyone who is unable to attend to sign up for the Irish Information Series or a campus tour, which can both be found on this page.
Father Ryan High School’s 2020 Preview Day will be Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. Please join our family of students, educators, parents and alumni to tour our campus and discover how Father Ryan is setting a new standard in Catholic education.
Our program begins at 1:00pm in the Center for the Arts with opening remarks along with a performing arts showcase. Doors open for registration and check in at 12:30pm.
You will have the opportunity to attend classes, attend sessions on Academics and Financial Aid, visit our clubs and activities fair, take a campus tour, and watch our Award-Winning Marching Band perform!
COVID Protocols: Please wear a face mask and social distance upon arrival. CDC guidelines will be adhered to at this event.
You and your family are invited to join us for our Irish Information Series. These brief, virtual presentations will be held on four dates and will feature informative descriptions of a variety of aspects of life at Father Ryan.
Each 30-minute webinar in the series will begin at 10:00am. You must register for each session you wish to attend individually.
October 30 - Academics at Father Ryan Hear from Academic Dean Jennifer Anton and Director of Academic Counseling Casey Jones as they discuss academics at Father Ryan. Learn more about how Father Ryan is able to challenge each student while providing support through our four learning levels, 170 academic course offerings, and the 27 AP courses that are offered. November 6 - Affording Father Ryan Chief Financial Officer Connie Steinmetz and Business Office Controller Kristi Allen will discuss the various ways that families from all financial backgrounds can afford a Father Ryan education. November 13 - Educational Support Programs at Father Ryan Coordinator of Cooperative and Academic Support Programs Ann Arnold will be joined by Jennifer Anton and Casey Jones to discuss the programs in place at Father Ryan to assist students with learning differences. November 20 - Student Involvement at Father Ryan From our new House System to athletics, clubs, activities, and other extracurriculars, there is truly something for everyone at Father Ryan. Director of Houses Amy Duke, Interim Director of Campus Ministry and Student Life Colleen Maxson, Director of Athletics Ann Mullins '03, and Chair of the Arts Department John Durand will talk to families about the myriad of activites that are offered outside of the classroom for Irish students. Enjoy coffee on campus as we present an in-depth look into Father Ryan’s curriculum. Parents will tour the Academic Building and observe classes in session.
Father Ryan hosts several Academic Blend Events throughout the school year. These events allow parents of students interested in attending Father Ryan a chance to visit the classroom during an academic day to see our talented faculty in action. Parents will also have a chance to hear about the range of opportunities in our academic program. It is only necessary to attend one Academic Blend. This is a parent-only event, and registration is required to attend. Space is limited for each date. All Academic Blends begin and end in the Neuhoff Library.
