Father Ryan provides a 15% discount to families with more than one child currently enrolled, one of the largest among Nashville schools. The tuition discount for the 2026-2027 school year is $4,315 for each additional sibling.

We understand the significant investment families make when choosing a Father Ryan education, and our Tuition Assistance program is designed to help make that investment a reality. The application is available to any applicant, and families who believe they may qualify are encouraged to apply. Tuition Assistance is need-based and is awarded as a grant that does not need to be repaid.

Father Ryan participates in two application-based scholarship programs available to families in Tennessee, the Educational Freedom Scholarship (EFS) and Educational Savings Account (ESA). Families planning to accept tuition assistance from Father Ryan are required to apply, if eligible.

These programs require separate applications to qualify and are not associated with our tuition assistance program.

Families may apply to both programs if they meet eligibility criteria, but may only participate in one program. More information and applications for both programs are available below:

Payment Plans
Father Ryan offers comprehensive and convenient tuition payment plans using the FACTS program. This program allows families to select one of four payment schedules, with online access to organize and track payments.

1. Single payment - Zero fee, 100% due May 1, 2026.
2. Semester Plan - Fee of $20 drafted by FACTS; 50% of Tuition due June 2026; 50% of Tuition due December 2026. The responsible party can choose to pay the Tuition on the 5th or 20th of June and December.
3. 10-Month Payment Plan - Fee of $50 drafted by FACTS; 10% of Tuition payable to FACTS monthly beginning June 2026 ending March 2027. The responsible party can choose to pay the Tuition on the 5th or 20th of each month.
4. 12-Month Payment Plan - Fee of $50 drafted by FACTS; 8.3% of Tuition payable to FACTS monthly beginning May 2026 ending April 2027. The responsible party can choose to pay the Tuition on the 5th or 20th of each month.

Required Fees
An annual non-refundable fee of $550 is due at the time of registration. This fee covers class retreats, lab costs, yearbooks, school newspaper subscription, excess accidental insurance coverage, special events/speakers, tests, course fees, and more. In addition, a senior fee of $300 to cover all graduation costs, including cap and gown rental, will be charged in February 2027 for graduating seniors only.

- Laptop: All students are required to purchase a laptop. Technology details and requirements can be found on the Technology page.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are available for purchase daily in the Dining Hall. Father Ryan offers an optional lunch meal plan to reduce unexpected costs.

Who should apply for tuition assistance?
Tuition assistance is for families with demonstrated financial need. The application is available to any applicant. Tuition assistance is need-based and provided as a grant that never needs to be repaid. Our students repay us by paying it forward and continuing the Tradition of Faith, Knowledge, Service beyond the Father Ryan campus. 

How do you determine a family’s need and any tuition assistance award?
Families submit the requested financial information to Clarity, a third-party consultant that reviews each family’s needs, circumstances, and financial information. Father Ryan’s Financial Aid Committee then conducts a confidential, individualized review of every application to determine demonstrated financial need. We consider several factors: household income; assets; liabilities; number of dependents enrolled in tuition-charging schools or colleges; and other relevant information, respecting that each family’s circumstances are different.

Do families reapply for tuition assistance each year?
Yes. As financial situations can change over time, families apply for tuition assistance annually. 

Does Father Ryan offer scholarships or accept outside scholarships?
Father Ryan provides need-based and merit-based scholarships to students. Many of these scholarships are primarily available to upperclassmen, with the exception of Presidential Scholarships through the Hayes Scholars Program to the top five high school placement testers annually.

Father Ryan also participates in two application-based scholarship programs available to families in Tennessee: the Tennessee Educational Savings Account (ESA) Program and Tennessee Educational Freedom Scholarship (EFS) Program. Families may apply to both if they meet eligibility criteria. Families are required to apply for the EFS or ESA if they plan to accept tuition assistance directly from Father Ryan.

How is financial aid funded?
Financial aid at Father Ryan is funded through a combination of sources: income generated by our endowment and scholarship funds, annual gifts from parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the school, and other revenue the school directs toward tuition assistance. 

Does Father Ryan receive subsidies from the Diocese of Nashville?
No, there is no direct financial contribution from the Diocese of Nashville to Father Ryan that subsidizes tuition. This is the same for other high schools in the Diocese of Nashville. We also do not receive direct parish subsidies. Like our peer private and parochial schools, Father Ryan relies on a balanced funding model that includes tuition, philanthropic support, investment income, and revenue from auxiliary programs.

Are there any additional fees outside of tuition?
Yes. Additional fees include lunch, books, uniforms, laptops, athletic fees, class fees, or parking fees to allow for family choice and flexibility. The average additional cost to families is $4,500.

Does Father Ryan offer athletic scholarships?
No. In accordance with TSSAA policy, all Tennessee private schools adhere to the same standards for student-athletes. All tuition assistance to student-athletes must be need-based. For a student-athlete to be eligible for tuition assistance, the family must first apply for tuition assistance. 

What are the payment options for tuition?
We offer four payment options: annual; semi-annual; ten-month; and 12-month.
