Need-Based Scholarships
Available upon acceptance, the scholarships below are available to students who apply and qualify for financial aid through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment by clicking here. Students and families must complete the FACTS Financial Aid forms in order to be considered. Applicants who qualify for aid are automatically considered and do not have to apply separately for these awards.

  • The Alfred E. Abbey, Jr. Scholarship

    Established in the memory of Alfred (Al) E. Abby, Jr. ’72, a very outgoing, friendly and entrepreneurial young man. The award goes to a qualified student who exhibits these same qualities.
  • The Class of 1967 Memorial Scholarship Fund

    Established in memory of the deceased members of the Class of 1967, this scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and high scholastic achievement, and who are also Catholic, graduates of a parochial school in Middle Tennessee and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. 
  • The Evelyn & Jimmy Bohan Scholarship

    Annual award is given to a student who actively participates in athletics and has siblings who will, currently or have attended Father Ryan.
  • The Callahan Family Fund

    This annual award is given to a student with high academic and scholastic achievement.
  • The Joel '36 and Mary Sue Cheek Scholarship

    Awarded to deserving students with demonstrated financial need.
  • The Kevin Paul Davis '09 Scholarship - Rising Seniors Only

    Established in the memory of Kevin Davis ’09, this scholarship is awarded to a rising senior who best exemplifies the well-rounded approach exhibited by Kevin that gave joy to all those around him.
  • The Aurelia Varallo Mariani Scholarship Fund

    Established by the Nashville Catholic Business Women’s League, recognizing a young woman’s academic achievements, as well as her high moral standards and service to her grade school and parish. This award is a four year scholarship awarded once every four years. The next four year scholarship will be awarded beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.
  • The Bishop James Niedergeses '37 / Monsignor George Rohling '31 Scholarship

    Awarded to deserving students with demonstrated financial need.
  • The Jo Copp Oehmig '48 Scholarship Fund

    Awarded to students from St. Ann’s with demonstrated financial need.
  • Fr. William J. Fleming '49 Scholarship Fund

    Provided by Father William Fleming '49, former teacher and principal of Father Ryan, the proceeds from this scholarship provide tuition assistance to students with demonstrated need.
  • Jim '54 and Nancy Langdon Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to the student(s) that demonstrate financial need and meet the most of the following requirements, in order of importance: 
    1. Catholic students graduating from a parochial school located in Middle Tennessee, with a family member who is a Father Ryan graduate
    2. Catholic students graduating from a parochial school located in Middle Tennessee
    3. Non-Catholic students graduating from a parochial school located in Middle Tennessee
    4. Other qualifying students
Community Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of donors across the Middle Tennessee area who are dedicated to investing in students' futures, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee administers more than 100 scholarship funds through an open application process. To apply, visit the CFMT website. These scholarships are available upon acceptance.

Merit-Based Scholarships
Available upon acceptance, recipients of these awards are nominated by faculty and staff and selected by the donors. In order to accept the financial component of this award students must have a demonstrated financial need or waive their ability to play Varsity athletics under TSSAA rule if no need is demonstrated.

  • Rev. James A. Black '64 Memorial Fund

    A three-year scholarship awarded to a rising sophomore who best exemplifies Catholic scholarship and Christian leadership.
  • Elmore Lampe Bright Future Scholarship

    Awarded to a student who, despite difficult circumstances, excelled in many key areas. Eligibility is determined by the student's efforts in areas such as academic effort, school and community involvement, and a desire for self-improvement. 
  • Charlie Green '99 Service Scholarship

    Charlie's family established this fund in his memory, to be awarded annually to a Father Ryan senior for his/her service to the community.
  • John P. (Jack) Long '69 Scholarship

    Established in the memory of Jack Long ’69, this scholarship is given each year to rising senior who exemplifies a balanced approach to their educational experience (athletics, academics, activities).
  • Will Miller '61 Award for Excellence in the Arts

    This annual award is given to a rising senior who demonstrates excellence and promise in the visual and performing arts.
  • The Spirit of Mike Scholarship

    Established in the memory of Mike Mayer ‘96, this award is given to a graduating percussion senior.
  • Mepkin Scholarship

    This scholarship is for $2,000/year for college tuition.

    In addition, Mepkin Abbey is also going to sponsor up to two current students to participate in school-sponsored mission trips each year.
