  • Step 1: Application

    Please note:

    Cooperative or Academic Support Applicants: If you are applying to the Cooperative Support program or for Academic Support and have had any psycho-educational evaluations, you must upload a copy to our Admissions portal or submit a full copy of the testing report by mail.

  • Step 2: Placement Test

    HSPT: (High School Placement Test) This is a national high school exam written by Scholastic Testing Services. The exam covers five areas: verbal, language, reading, math skills and quantitative math (math aptitude). This test is mandatory and will help determine your placement in Father Ryan’s academic program.
     
    Placement tests for the 2021-2022 school year will take place at 7:45am on:
    • Saturday, November 7, 2020
    • Saturday, December 5, 2020*
    *If you are applying for Cooperative or Academic Support, our placement test will be offered with extended time on this Saturday ONLY.

    Please note:

    International Applicants: If you are an applicant whose citizenship is that of a non-English speaking country, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Father Ryan’s TOEFL code is 1953. Please visit www.toefl.org for more information.
  • Step 3: Recent Grades and Transcripts

    Please submit the Records Release Form to your current school requesting that the items listed below be sent to Father Ryan High School no later than December 4, 2020:
    • Copy of current quarter or semester grade report
    • Copy of previous year report card
    • Standardized testing taken in the current year and/or previous year
    • Transcript (needs to be requested if you are a transfer student only)
  • Step 4: School Recommendations

    Please submit the School Recommendation forms to your student’s School Administrator and to his/her English, Math, and Science Teachers via our online student portal. You will have access to your student’s online portal/checklist after you submit the online application. 

    The recommendations will need to be sent to Father Ryan High School by those completing them no later than December 4, 2020.
  • Step 5: Interview

    Personal Interview: You will be contacted by the Office of Admissions to schedule an interview. The interview is a required step in the application process, and it is an opportunity for Father Ryan to get to know you, your interests and anything else you feel is important for the Admissions Office to know. You should look for an email from Father Ryan High School (admissions@fatherryan.org) to schedule your Interview time.

Father Ryan High School is proud to be a full member of the Independent Schools of the Nashville Area (ISNA).  As a full member, along with a select group of other elite independent schools, we adhere to a quiet period between the acceptance notification date (February 26, 2021) and the parent response deadline (March 5, 2021). We understand this can be a critical time for families selecting schools. If you need anything during this quiet period, while we cannot initiate contact to families, you are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Admissions with any questions.
