Our application for the 2027-2028 school year is now open. 

Please note: If you are applying for the Common Release Decision Date, your application and all supporting documentation are due no later than December 9, 2026. Please contact the Office of Admissions if you have any questions.

While the application deadline for the Common Release Date has passed, we are still accepting applications as space allows. Our Admissions Office is happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us at (615) 383-4200.

Application Fee - $50

The Placement Test given at Father Ryan, in addition to recommendations, other standardized test scores and transcripts, will help determine the appropriate placement of students in Father Ryan's academic program.

Our Placement Test is being offered on the following dates:

• November 7, 2026
• December 5, 2026

Check-in at 7:45am; Pick-up at 11:45am | The Center for the Arts

*If you are applying for Educational Support, an extended-time test option will be offered on both test dates.

Please Note: The Placement Test registration can be accessed only from your Admissions Portal. To access the Admissions Portal, your application must be submitted by the Thursday before your scheduled test day. There is no additional fee to take this test.
 
HSPT: (High School Placement Test) This is a national high school exam written by Scholastic Testing Services. The exam covers five areas: verbal, language, reading, math skills and quantitative math (math aptitude). This test is mandatory and will help determine your placement in Father Ryan’s academic program. More information on HSPT.

Please Note:
International Applicants: If you are an applicant whose citizenship is that of a non-English speaking country, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Father Ryan’s TOEFL code is 1953. Please visit www.toefl.org for more information.

 Please use our Admissions Portal to send a records requests to your student's current school for the following documents: 

• 8th Grade Report Card - through the first quarter or semester of 8th grade
• 7th Grade Report Card
• Standardized Test Scores - taken in the current year and/or previous year

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

• First name, last name, and email address for the individual at your student's school who sends student records.

If you are applying for the Common Release Decision Date, all of the above items are due no later than December 9, 2026.

 Please use our Admission Portal to send requests for your recommendations. Father Ryan requires the following recommendations: 

• 8th Grade English Teacher
• 8th Grade Math Teacher
• 8th Grade Science Teacher
• Administrator Recommendation

Family Interviews: You will be contacted by the Office of Admissions to schedule your family interview. This interview is a necessary part of the application process and provides Father Ryan with an opportunity to learn more about your family, your student’s values, educational goals, and interests, and how you envision your student as part of our school community. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about Father Ryan, as well as share anything else you feel is important for the Admissions Office to know. We look forward to meeting with you.
