Congratulations to the Irish who defeated CBHS in overtime to claim the 2008 DII State Championship! Senior Charles Rodriguez scored the first point of the game with an assist from Andrew Chamberlein. Three minutes into the 2nd period, the game was suspended for 50-minutes due to TSSAA's weather rules.

Tied at 1-1 after regulation time, overtime and sudden death goalie J Phillips blocked the first CBHS penalty kick to put the Irish on the offensive. The final goal by Rodriguez sealed the deal as the Irish won 4-2 and gave Father Ryan the title. Congratulations, boys - roll, pride, roll!
