Building on a legacy of athletic success that extends back to our founding in 1925, Father Ryan claims numerous state and national titles, with 57 team and more than 120 individual championships. More important, Father Ryan develops outstanding student-athletes who have provided memorable sports moments that have energized our fans, shaped sports, partnered with workers for social justice, and changed the social landscape of the South.
An experienced and long-standing roster of accomplished coaches lead 26 interscholastic teams that compete in the TSSAA Division II. This assemblage of athletes and teachers benefit from some of the most outstanding facilities in the area and a devoted fan base that turns out in large numbers to cheer on the Irish at every venue. In addition, the fitness and strength program, available to all Father Ryan students, provides valuable and life-long training in fitness, nutrition and health, all overseen by our fitness staff.
For select games, Father Ryan provides live webcasting through ATWSportscast.com and will announce on the website which games will be broadcast. You can also view it through Behind the Crest
, our student-run broadcast club that delivers information on all sports and athletics news for Father Ryan.
Irish fans throughout our history proudly proclaim, “It’s a great day to be Irish.”
