Personal Counseling Department
OUR MISSION
The goal of the Personal Counseling Department is to provide a safe environment where students can develop as a whole person spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. We seek to be of constant support to students, families, teachers, and the administration of Father Ryan. In an effort to provide a safe place to discuss concerns, confidentiality is extended to each student that comes to the Personal Counseling Department.
PERSONAL COUNSELING STAFF
Ashley Johnston, MS, LPC-MHSP, Director of Personal Counseling
Jennie Corfman, MA, Life Skills Counselor
Anna White, MA, Life Skills Counselor
We also have several graduate level interns working with us: Nicole Brown, Justin Dodson, Adam Marshall, and Joshua Myers.
OUR LIMITATIONS:
Due to the very nature of the counseling services being offered during school hours, it is at times inappropriate to explore certain emotional concerns with students while at school; that is, sending a student back to class after discussing emotional difficulties without adequate time to transition could falter academic success and ultimately personal growth. When it is identified as a hindrance to the academic pursuits of a student, referring to outside counselors, psychologists, and/or psychiatrists is the standard procedure.
