For the third time in the last four
seasons, the Father Ryan Irish Rugby Team is the best team in the state
of Tennessee. The Irish have won their third state championship by
defeating the Ravenwood Raptors by a score of 15-0. S Hohl scored the
first try for the Irish, and T Kincaid added two more which earned him
"Most Valuable Player" for the championship match. See photos by Elaine Demeter >>
In the
semi-finals, the Raptors eliminated Eastern Conference champion and
powerhouse Maryville High School and the Irish eliminated Western
Conference champions, and former state champions, Brighton "Storm" 15-0.

Congratulations to the still-undefeated Varsity Irish Rugby Team for their impressive win Friday night over the Franklin Rebels. The varsity won by a score of 62-5 and has out-scored their opponents 243 to 26 this season.
The team has finished top-seed in their division in the Conference Playoffs which begin here at Giacosa Stadium on Thursday evening. Come out and cheer on your Irish Ruggers!
