Post-Season Honors
The Father Ryan wrestling program earned big honors for Coach Simpson and
several wrestlers this spring. Pat Simpson, who has coached wrestling for 31 years,

The All-Midstate teams were also announced
this week and a number of Ryan players made the cut. A Simpson (119 lb)
and W Wesley (171 lb) were named to the All-Midstate 1st Team. M Akers
(103 lb), C Moseley (112 lb), C Agnew (145 lb), R Fisher (215 lb) and C
Norcross (245 lb) were named to the All-Midstate 2nd Team. See the Tennessean's

wrestling team and Coach Simpson for these superb honors!
Individual State Tournament Results
Congratulations to the wrestling team for another excellent
wrestling season. The team's record was 29 wins and four defeats. The
Irish were undefeated in competition with Tennessee high schools. Several members of the team did very well in competition
in the individual state tournament
M Akers was the state champion
(9-2) at 103 pounds and W Wesley won the state (7-1) at 171 pounds. This is
Wesley's third consecutive state championship. C Moseley, W Mix and R
Fisher all placed second. C Agnew, M Marchetti, T Holmes and A Simpson
placed third in their respective weight classes. D Wright and A Benito
placed 5th and B Murphy placed 6th.

The Irish Win the State Duals!
Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team for winning the state title in Dual Wrestling. They took home the championship trophy after defeating Christian Brothers 28 - 24.
