Warner C. Hassell


Metropolitan General Sessions Court of Davidson Co., Court Administrator

Warner Hassell is the Court Administrator of the Metropolitan General Sessions Court of Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee and has held this position for the past 26 years. Warner manages a metropolitan limitedjurisdiction court that is the second largest in the State of Tennessee.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Political Science, he worked as Budget Analyst for the Tennessee State Senate and received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Tennessee State University. Before assuming his current position, he began his judicial administration career as Director of the Tennessee Judicial Information System for the Tennessee Supreme Court-Executive Secretary’s Office.

Warner is a member of the National Association for Court Management, American Society for Public Administration, Associate Member of the Nashville Bar Association, the University of Tennessee Alumni Association, and the Western Kentucky University Parent Advisory Council from 2009-2010. He also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Court Management from 2006-2009.

Warner has been married to Marilyn Hassell for over 30 years and they have two daughters, Rebecca ‘01 and Meredith ‘06, who are graduates of Christ the King School and Father Ryan High School.  Marilyn teaches kindergarten at Christ the King School.
