Thank you for your interest in attending Father Ryan High School. The information you provide in your application will enable us to better picture you as a student at Father Ryan, helping to guide our review and placement processes. Please read the instructions below before beginning the application process.
Step 1: Application
To initiate the application process, you must submit the following by January 10, 2013:
Part I (includes Parent Questionnaire, $85 Fee)
Part II (to be completed by student)
Baptismal certificate if the applicant is Catholic (please submit by mail)
Step 2: Placement Test
(November 3 & December 1, 2012)
8th grade applicants must take a high school placement test given at Father Ryan. This test is mandatory and will help determine your placement in Father Ryan's academic program.
International applicants whose citizenship is that of a non-English speaking country must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Father Ryan's TOEFL code is 1953. Please visit www.toefl.org for more information.
If you have had any psycho-educational evaluations, you must submit a full copy of the testing report by mail.
Register for Placement Testing
Step 3: Recommendations
Complete the appropriate portion of the four Recommendation Forms and forward to the respective teacher to complete. The recommendations will then be mailed to the Admissions Office by the authors of the recommendations. These are due by January 10, 2013.
Step 4: Transcripts
Complete the Records Release Form and give to the applicant's school to submit a copy of the current report card and a copy of the previous year's final grades. This is due by January 10, 2013.
Step 5: Personal Interview and Scheduling
(January 24 - February 4, 2013)
Personal Interview - You will be contacted after receipt of the completed application and fee to schedule an interview. The interview is a required step in the application process, and it is an opportunity for Father Ryan to get to know you, your interests and anything else you feels is important for the Admissions Office to know.
Scheduling - During the interview, you will sit down with an academic advisor to discuss and plan a tentative class schedule for the upcoming school year.
Registration Fee - Completing the application requires payment of the $435 annual registration fee. This fee is non-refundable unless you are not admitted to Father Ryan High School. Payment of this fee does not guarantee admission to the school. The registration fee is used to secure a space for you, if admitted, and will also guarantee the schedule set during your interview. Please contact the Admissions Office with any questions regarding the fee.
Step 6: Decision Letters
After your file is reviewed by the Admissions Committee, a decision letter will be sent. Letters will be mailed by the end of February. Applications received after the application deadline will be considered on a rolling admissions basis.
