PROJECT GRADUATION VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED: We are still in need of parents to help with set up (all classes), at the
party (no senior parents allowed!), and clean up (all classes). Senior
parents who assist with set up on graduation morning will earn an additional
$1000 in funny money for your senior when they attend the party! Please

Attention Junior Parents!!
Project
Graduation Meeting for your rising senior student’s class will be held on
Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30PM in the Performing Arts
Theater. This is your opportunity to make your child’s graduation a
very special and safe event!
Project graduation is an all night alcohol-free party on the night of
graduation. 99% of the graduates participate and 100% of them come home
safely! Learn more about the event and how you can help.

Attention Sophomores: The
class rosters for next year's Advanced Placement United States History classes
are posted on Mr. Chambers' classroom door. His room number is A234.
Attention students: All
Library Books and Materials are now overdue. Please return all items to the
library immediately. Use the book drop if the library is closed for AP exams.
See Mrs. Foreman if you have
lost a library book and need to pay the replacement fee. Diplomas and Grades
will be held for items not returned or replacement fees not paid.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
Attention Girl Soccer
Players: Any girl who is interested in playing soccer for Father Ryan
next year needs to get an informational handout from Coach Dieterich in room
215. This handout has important summer workout information on it, so get
a copy as soon as possible.
TRACK
Congratulations to the Boys'
Track Team for beating MBA 72 to 68 last night in head to head
competition! The Irish were led by Eric Collins in the 110m High Hurdles
and High Jump, Josh Hayes in the long jump and triple jump, Dwight Willingham
in the pole vault, Prince Iworah in the 100 meter dash, Collin Farrell in the
200m dash, Taylor Wilson in the 400m dash, and Anthony Simpson in the 3200m
run. The Irish also won the 4 by 200m relay and 4 by 400m relay on
their way to victory.
The Boys' and Girls'
Track Teams will be competing in the Region Meet next week at MBA on Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Friday. Good Luck Irish!
All Boys' Track members need
to meet in Coach Jones' room immediately after school.
Congratulations to Jackie
Owusu for breaking the school record in the shot put in yesterday's track meet
at MBA! Jackie threw 35 feet, seven inches to break the school record of 35
feet, which had stood since 1988. Further congratulations to Sonja Carter,
who broke her own school record in the pole vault by clearing 6 feet!
BOYS’ SOCCER
Congratulations
to the Guys’ Soccer Team who are the Middle Region Tournament
Champions. In a hard fought over time match, the Irish beat Pope John
Paul II. PJPII was undefeated and ranked #7 in the nation. The
Guys’ Soccer team travels to Chattanooga on Saturday to play for a number
one seed in their region. The game begins at Baylor at 3:30pm
(Chattanooga time).

VOLLEYBALL
Attention all girls trying
out for next year's volleyball team. Tryouts will be held Monday, May
12 and Tuesday, May 13 at 3:10-4:30.
Be prepared to run first. Tryouts will follow.
CROSS COUNTRY
Any girls who missed the Cross Country informational meeting
this week may obtain information from Coach Kent if interested in running this
fall.
BOYS’ LACROSSE
The boys’ Lacrosse team will take on Cookeville in the
State playoff semi-finals on Saturday. The game is at 1:00 pm on the main MBA
field. If Father Ryan can win the Saturday game, they will play for the State
Championship on Sunday at noon.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Irish Softball team will play JPII for the Region
championship at 5:00pm at BGA. Come support the Lady Irish!

ATTENTION YEARBOOK APPLICANTS
There will be a meeting next
Tuesday, May 13, during break for all those who expect to be enrolled in
yearbook next year. Please meet in room 203.
Cheerleaders
The new
wrestling cheerleaders for next year's season will have a mandatory meeting
Tuesday morning during break in room 220.
Father Ryan Color Guard Auditions will be held here on campus, the
13th, & 15th from 4-6 P.M. The guard is ranked in the top 30 in the world
and all are welcome to try out. No experience is required, but if you have
dance background, love to perform in front of thousands of people, and love to
travel to fun cool places then guard is for you. See Mr. Frey in the band room
if you have any questions.
Father Ryan Drumline Auditions will be held on campus the 13th,
& 15th from 4-6 p.m. The drumline is ranked in the top 15 in the world.
There are many spots available due to graduating seniors so this is the perfect
year to try drumline out. Experience is preferred but not required. Auditions
also include spots for piano, guitar, and bass. See Mr. Schletzer in the
bandroom if you have any questions.
AIR FORCE ACADEMY APPOINTMENT
David Anderson will accept his appointment to the Air Force
Academy on Wednesday, May 14th at break in the library. Major Stewart
Anderson will be presenting this award to David. Everyone is invited,
especially David’s friends and classmates.
The Athletic Awards Night is May 15, 2008 beginning at 6:30
P.M. in the Center for the Arts.
Attention
All Rising Senior Band Members and Rising Senior Athletes: Pictures for the
Athletic Program will be taken May 15th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm in
the Library. If you and your parents would like to be included in next
year’s Athletic Program, make plans now.
