Senior Retreat

The Senior Retreat has
once again come and gone. The night began at 7:30 at St. Stephen
Church. Groups of seniors excitedly jumped into the unexpected
with only sleeping bags and backpacks to prepare them. After some
time to socialize, the night began with mass. It was a nice way
to break the ice for any of those who felt uncomfortable. Following
the mass, C Gillcrist and D Smith gave speeches about the unecessary
stereotypes and labels that catagorize people in the class. After
the speeches, the seniors were grouped off into separate groups
of about 10 people. The purpose of the groups was to interact
with and get to know people that you might not have met yet while
in school. Once the group activities were finished, M Mowry and
M Clunan gave their speeches. Then there was open mic for any
senior to talk to the class if she/he chose to. That lasted until
well beyond 1 am. The night ended downstairs where people were
able to sleep, or stay up and socialize some more. In the morning,
exhausted seniors awakened to donuts and juice. There was a final
prayer service that bid the seniors farewell from their retreat.
The Clippingers, Mr Kent, Mr Cassidy, Mr Shuff, and Ms Hayes were
a few of the faculty along with Fr Joe who also stayed overnight.
