During Advent, Fr. Ryan faculty, staff, and students, contributeD their spare change to help Catholic Schools in the
Diocese of Biloxi Mississippi. This diocese was severely impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Mike Ladner, Superintendent of Schools for the diocese, wrote to the Tennessee Register pleading for help. DETAILS»

The various French classes competed against each other in the annual French Club gingerbread house contest last week - the winning group included P Smith, J Burnett, and D Forsythe.

Model UN Success United Nations flag Congratulations to Fr Ryan's Model UN teamfor their outstanding performance at Model UN. Over 500 students statewide attended and Father Ryan excelled in many areas: Sophomore Z Hermann was elected as Vice-President of next year’s General Assembly and Senior P Bowron, representing Ireland, received an award as best delegate. Two teams received awards for "Best Costume" - M Bedard, G Kreigle, and M Montesi representing Israel as well as R Bowron, N Glaser, and J White representing Ireland.
M Melendez read her essay at the Veteran's Day breakfast and program for Irish alumni veterans and veterans of the extended Father Ryan family on Friday, 11/11.

A 1965 Father Ryan graduate, Fr Choby was ordained to the priesthood September 6, 1974 and has served a number of assignments in the Diocese of Nashville. This marks the second Father Ryan graduate to serve as our Bishop. DIOCESE OF NASHVILLE HOMEPAGE» ![]() The Theatrical Production class presented "Our Town" , a classic by Thornton Wilder that reaches into the past of America and movingly evokes a way of life that is lost in our present turmoil. This was the course's third individual class production - last year they did Shakespeare's "A MidSummer Night's Dream" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
Ho, ho, ho - Santa's brought an early present for all Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores - the yearbooks! Graduates from the 2005 can pick theirs up this week at the Development House or will be able to get it at the Alumni Luncheon in January!
![]() On Tuesday, 11/15, the Nashville Metro Council recognized Father Ryan High School for the efforts of the school in accepting displaced students related to Hurricane Katrina. Council members Tommy Bradley, Mike Jameson, Lynn Williams and Vivian Wilhoite sponsored the resolution which was signed into record by Vice Mayor Howard Gentry. Student council officers M Murphy, C Harris, E Owusu, and M Rymer stood with Principal Jim McIntyre to accept the written resolution.
