Last Night of Ballyhoo![]() In December 1939, Gone with the Wind is having its world premier, Hitler is invading Poland, and in Atlanta, the Freitag family is much more concerned with who is going with whom to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Cheerleaders Place 1st!
The competition cheerleaders placed 1st in their division at the UCA all music competition on 10/29 at David Lipscomb University. Performing the routine that they debuted at the Homecoming pep rally, their score of 90 and above in each category is proof of their effort, time and dedication. The team's next competition is in December. Great job, ladies!

Fr Ryan Recognized![]() On Tuesday, 11/15, the Nashville Metro Council recognized Father Ryan High School for the efforts of the school in accepting displaced students related to Hurricane Katrina. Council members Tommy Bradley, Mike Jameson, Lynn Williams and Vivian Wilhoite sponsored the resolution which was signed into record by Vice Mayor Howard Gentry. Student council officers M Murphy, C Harris, E Owusu, and M Rymer stood with Principal Jim McIntyre to accept the written resolution. ![]() Future Irish alumni anticipated the start of the 1K Fun Run at the 4th Annual Irish Pride 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, 11/12 - congratulations to the female & male winners: Ashley Anderson and Jimmy Clark. CONTINUED» Mr and Mrs Langton spent the day with the Irish the Marching Band in Florida for the most successful band contest showing in the school's history! The band received one of nine Superior ratings at the Regional Bands of America (BOA) competition in St. Petersburg, Florida - this is the first time that they have made finals in a BOA contest: placing 9th out of 26 bands; and competing against the three top bands in the nation. Father Ryan Marching Band is now NATIONALLY ranked!
