We are now starting the 3rd week of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, the Student Council organized a Day of Service and a group of students went to work on a variety of service projects. Many classes also participated in projects on campus - from recording books on tape to making rosaries.

Holy Week is exactly one month away - will you be ready?

 
Mother & Daughter Brunch
The Parent School Network will host the Mother & Daughter Brunch on Saturday, 3/1, from 9-11 am in the Dining Hall. The cost is $20 per family - please pay (by check) to the Mrs Bottoms in the main office by Friday, 2/22. This year's speaker is Debbie Binkley, Manager of The Friends Shop at The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt will speak on spring fashion trends.

State Champions

Congratulations to the Wrestling team who are Co-Champions for the DII State Wrestling tournament. Individual champions are junior P Marchetti, soph W Wesley, senior K Mix, senior S Clanton, and two-time winner senior Z Herrmann!
Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of the faith we share as a Catholic community! Each morning, selected faculty and alumni spoke on what Catholic Education means to them and to offer reflections on the role that it has played in their life. Do you recognize these FRHS alums? On Sunday, 1/13, Father Ryan presented a "Rock for Darfur" concert. The student group Killer Quails opened for Mr. Walton & his Band and the group "Sosa Musica" will end the night. For those who attended the Walk for Darfur in December, Sosa Musica performed at the rally. They are an energetic band comprised of refugees from South Sudan.

  
Registration Parent Meetings
Wondering what classes to sign up for for next year? Are there any new ones your student might be interested in?
     Guidance counselors will host parent meetings to go over scheduling in the theater at 6:30pm:
  • Tue, 2/26:  parents of present 9th graders
  • Thu, 2/28:  parents of present 10-11 graders
Both meetings will be streamed on the Internet starting at 6:25pm for those who cannot attend or wish to watch from home.

Showtime Showtime is this Saturday at 6:30pm in the theater! Come watch and enjoy the great talent of your friends and classmates as they compete for a $200 1st place prize!


Milli Vanilli 2008
The Winning Group Milli Vanilli (a lip-sync contest) took place on Monday, 1/21. A chance for all those "pretend" singers and dancers out there to get up and lip synch their favorite songs! The winners were 1st place—R Graham, E Schaeffer, M Spellman, A Abramo, and B Fleming, who performed a mix of Backstreet Boys' songs. 2nd place went to M McCluney and D Rone and 3rd place winners were Ch Lally, S Keane, L Wigger, and MC Derrick, who performed "You Got the Best of My Love." Father & Son Breakfast

The Dining Hall was packed for the annual Father/Son Breakfast is on Saturday, 1/19. This year's guest speaker was Rudy Kalis, Sports Director for WSMV-TV, who shared experiences from his life and challenged all to cherish this time together.

Recycling @ Ryan

Recycle! It may look like a dumpster but the big green recepticle behind the theater is for recycling as Ryan goes green! CONTINUED»
