  Milli Vanilli concert
Kiss The annual Milli Vanilli Lip Synching Contest will be held Monday, 1/21, at 7:00pm in the theater. At least 8 acts to put this show on - sign-ups will be on Mr. Puryear’s door starting next Monday. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners! 1st place wins $200, 2nd place wins $100, and 3rd place wins $50. All students are welcome to participate or just come and enjoy the show for only $1!
     If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, sign up and pay homage to your favorite performer or group! Check out past winners - including KISS, the Jackson Five, Sonny & Cher, and Nsync!
 
Reminder On Sunday, 1/13, Father Ryan will present the Rock for Darfur in the Theater. The Killer Quails will be leading off the concert followed by the Greg Walton Band; Sosa Musica will end the night. For those who attended the Walk for Darfur in December, Sosa Musica performed at the rally. They are an energetic band comprised of refugees from South Sudan.

Luncheon Event!
On Thursday, January 3, Seniors are invited to join all members of the classes of 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 along with the faculty/staff durng their lunch period in the Field House. Lunch will be provided for all; the alumni are invited to come and stay throughout all four lunch periods (11:15-1:15pm) so they can talk to all seniors about their college experiences and visit.

Speakers Series
Charley StrobelOn Thursday, 10/25, Charles Strobel spoke on "Capital Punishment" for the second presentation in the 2007-08 Speaker Series. These presentations provide a platform for learning about and discussing current social and moral issues in our community.

Band at TRI
Congratulations to the Marching Band who competed at the Music City invitational and was awarded superior, band, guard, and field commander awards. The band won first place for guard, drumline, field commander, and band in its class. It also won first place guard and drumline overall regardless of class. This is the first time the guard has won the guard challenge cup, and the ninth time the drumline has won the percussion challenge cup. BAND»

911 Prayer Service
911 Prayer Service On the anniversary of the September 11th attacks in Washington, New York, and the attack in the air over Pennsylvania, Father Ryan gathered at for prayer service to honor those who gave their lives and to pray for those who survived or were victimized by the attacks.

Father & Son Breakfast  DEADLINE

come ready to chow! The annual Father/Son Breakfast is on Saturday, 1/19 from 8:30–10:30 am in the Dining Hall. This year's guest speaker will be Rudy Kalis, Sports Director for WSMV-TV. There’s limited seating by reservation only so send in your $20 family fee no later than Monday, 1/14. Include the names of those attending. Drop off your check at the Main Office or mail it to 770 Norwood Drive, Nashville, TN 37204. Make checks payable to Father Ryan High School – PSN.

    Opening School Mass

    Fathers Connor, Breen, Johnston, Breen and Wolfe
    On Thursday, 9/6, the Father Ryan community officially kicked off the school year with a mass presided by Bishop Choby and fellow alumni priests Fathers Pat Connor, Philip Breen, Mike Johnston, Joe Breen and Steven Wolfe along with Father Mark Hunt. After the homily, the teachers, eucharistic and music ministers were commissioned in their roles.

    Freshmen meet in small groups
    Freshman Night, held Saturday, 8/18, was an opportunity for the Baby Irish of 2011 to learn some of the traditions of Father Ryan, to meet some new classmates and to begin to develop a spirit of class unity. The evening began at 4:30 pm and wrapped up with mass and a dance.
