Every year, students in Mr. Mascari's physics classes participate in his egg drop challenge. This annual event was started four years ago and is a favorite of all the physics students.

The rules are simple: make an egg dropping "device" that will protect an egg from a fifteen foot drop onto a concrete floor. But, the only material you can use to make your device is cardboard. No duct tape, no string, and no foam are allowed. Lightness and size are key, though, because if more than one egg drop works correctly, the winner is determined by the the lightest. Two physics classes participated this year.

At the end of the day, only thirteen people had intact eggs from both classes. The difference between winners and runners-up was a few mere grams. The final winners were P Davis and L Wiesman.
