Jack’s Tale is about a boy named Jack and the story derived from folk tales Scots-Irish settlers brought with them to America. Jack helps his mother and two brothers through a some hard times with an treacherous king and a blue-bearded giant by using common sense, good humor and a honest heart. Jack’s bravery rescues his family and wins him a princess bride.

A Thousand Cranes is a based on a true story about a young girl named Sadako; a girl affected by the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and diagnosed with radiation sickness. She attempts to make a thousand oragami cranes in order for the gods to grant her a wish of good health.

Sadako was not able to finish making the cranes, but her classmates finished the rest for her. The wish is now engraved below a monument to her,"This is our cry, this is our prayer, peace in the world."
