On Thursday, 9/7, the Father Ryan High School community gathered to celebrate the 2005-06 Opening School Mass. The mass was presided with Bishop Choby and alumni priests Monsigneur Hitchcock, Father Hunt, Father Johnston, Father Pat Breen, Father Phillip Breen, Father O'Connor and Father Kibby. Students serve roles of leadership as eucharistic ministers, lectors, and gift bearers for all school liturgies. Students in Music Ministry, musicians from the band, as well as the Father Ryan Singers shared their gifts of music throughout the liturgy.

After the homily, Bishop Choby blessed and commissioned the Eucharistic ministers that will be helping with many school masses this year. There was also a special comissioning ceremony for the teachers and staff as well.
