The Father Ryan Irish Guard is 88 members strong this year with 33 new freshmen. The theme of the 2004 show is music by Pat Metheney, a famous jazz guitar player from the 80s. Songs include First Circle, Letter From Home, and Minuano. Time changes and jazz syncopation make the music challenging to play while marching. The band is competing in three Bands of America contests with some of the top bands in this region. The season will be challenging, but everyone's hard work shows in the outstanding performances. The final competition of the year will be the prestigious Music City Invitational. |
