Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating our students, and Father Ryan High School is dependent upon the generosity of its donors to provide those extras that assure the quality of virtually every aspect of school life – from the classrooms to the playing fields to the stage. For more information on giving opportunities, please contact the Advancement Office at (615) 269-7926 or via email at heathk@fatherryan.org.
Annual Giving - Secure Online
Giving Gifts to the Annual Fund are raised through mailings, personal phone calls, and visits from volunteers. Contributions to the Annual Fund (and all gifts to Father Ryan High School) are tax-deductible and can be made by cash, check, credit card, or through stock transfers. Pledges can be made and paid in installments. The fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30. Many companies will match gifts to Father Ryan by their employees. Please check with your human resources department to see if your employer matches charitable contributions.
Gifts in Memory and in Honor Honorees and families of honored persons are notified of the donor's name and address, but not the amount of the gift. The donor is mailed an acknowledgement for tax purposes.
Named Endowed Funds Funds may be named to memorialize a deceased family member or friend, or to honor a living family member or friend. They may also be named for a teacher, corporation, or organization, or they can commemorate a special birthday, anniversary, or achievement. A Named Endowed Fund is established with a gift or pledge of $25,000 or more. The principal will be invested with the Father Ryan High School Endowment Fund and the earnings from the interest will be used annually for student assistance in accordance with the provisions of the fund. Additional funding can be added to the principal at any time, thereby increasing the amount of the award.
Planned Giving The Society is named for Fr. Jim Black '64, who before his death was not only an outstanding student and faculty member at Father Ryan but also a noted author. In addition to the fond memories many former classmates and students have of Fr. Black, his legacy to Ryan is all the income from the publishing and sale of his written materials, including The Old Testament, a widely used text for scripture instruction. You can help sustain the mission of Father Ryan High School through a gift provision in your will or through some other planned gift arrangement. Then go one step further, and share that information with us so that your name may be added to the growing list of Father Black Society members. The Society's membership is published in the school's annual report and elsewhere to encourage others to follow this thoughtful example
Capital Giving Construction of these buildings was undertaken with confidence that the Father Ryan community would support the $8.4 million capital improvement, and we were fortunate to receive tax-free municipal bond financing for the construction. The objective of the Expanding the Dream capital campaign was to raise the full amount necessary to retire the bond debt. To date, through the generosity of parents, staff, alumni and friends, we have raised $4.5 million in cash and pledges. For donors considering major gifts, Father Ryan has a number of naming opportunities which will permanently associate the benefactor's name with Father Ryan High School. Every gift is important! Pledges can be paid over a period of 5 years and pledge cards can be obtained by calling the Advancement Office at (615) 269-7926.
